Unity in Action: Wuloni Residents Welcome HABEMA Social Outreach

PUNCAK - Strengthening the bond between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local communities in Papua, the Task Forces of Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad have taken another step forward. On Monday, 13 January 2025, during a security patrol in Wuloni Village, Ilaga District, Central Papua, the Task Forces engaged in a heartwarming Social Communication (Komsos) initiative. This effort, led by Captain Honest, aims to build trust and collaboration between TNI and the local community, supporting the Indonesian Government's mission to accelerate development in Papua.

During the patrol, the Soldiers engaged with the Wuloni villagers, listening to their concerns and sharing updates on security measures in the area. Residents expressed their appreciation for the quick first-aid assistance provided by the Soldiers and their consistent presence, which fosters a sense of safety. Zakaria Murib, a local resident, voiced gratitude, saying, “Thank you, Commander 323. God bless.”  

The interaction also allowed the Soldiers to gather firsthand information about the village's security situation, which remains stable and conducive. By fostering direct communication, the initiative not only strengthens relationships but also creates a supportive environment for ongoing development efforts.  

Commander of the 323 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, emphasized the importance of addressing the community's basic needs and integrating security efforts with genuine care for the people. His leadership has been instrumental in ensuring that the Soldiers balance their focus on security with meaningful social interactions.  

HABEMA Commanding General Brigadier General Lucky Avianto lauded the efforts, stating, “The 323 Task Forces' initiative exemplifies TNI's commitment to fostering inclusive communication and trust with local communities, a crucial step toward accelerating development in Papua.”  

The success of this initiative highlights the profound impact of inclusive and human-centered military operations. The rapport built through these interactions not only ensures security but also lays a strong foundation for mutual respect and cooperation.  

The HABEMA Social Communication Program exemplifies the TNI's role as a bridge between the government and the people, ensuring that every step taken contributes to a safer, more prosperous Papua.
