Building Bridges in Kimak: Task Force 323 Strengthens Ties with Papua Community

Ilaga, Puncak - MediaHabema - The Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA’s Task Force, the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, continues to demonstrate its dedication to both security and community engagement along the Indonesian-Papua New Guinea border, specifically in Puncak Regency, Papua Tengah Province.

On October 30, 2024, soldiers from the Wuloni Post, led by Captain Honest, carried out a Social Communication (Komsos) initiative while conducting a patrol in Kimak Village, Ilaga District. This initiative aims to foster cooperation and trust between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and local residents to support the Indonesian Government’s broader efforts to accelerate development across Papua.

During the patrol, the soldiers engaged with residents, addressing concerns about the community’s access to first-aid services. The Task Force carefully noted these concerns, promising to improve their readiness in assisting the community. While security remains a priority, moments like these allow soldiers to create meaningful connections with the people they serve.

As a gesture of unity, the soldiers and residents took time to cook and share lunch together, breaking barriers and building friendships. In a heartfelt moment, Zakaria Murib, a local villager, expressed his gratitude:

"Thank you, Commander 323. God bless."
This simple yet profound statement reflects the growing trust between the Task Force and the local community, reinforcing their shared goals for safety and development.

Commander of the 323 Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, emphasized the importance of addressing the community’s essential needs alongside security responsibilities. The report of this activity was met with praise from the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, who remarked:
"The 323 Task Force’s initiative exemplifies TNI’s commitment to building inclusive social communication with all stakeholders, supporting Papua’s development."

The soldiers’ efforts are a testament to the TNI’s professional, adaptive, and integrated approach, fostering a positive environment for both military operations and the well-being of local communities. Such initiatives enhance the collaborative spirit necessary for sustainable development in the region, offering hope and optimism for Papua’s future.

Through acts of kindness and collaboration, Task Force 323 not only fulfills its security mandate but also cultivates unity proving that even in remote regions, small gestures can inspire great change.
